The Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority is proud to serve as one of the largest residential property developers in Hamilton County.

For decades, CMHA has led planning and development efforts that deliver affordable, accessible, and market‑rate housing throughout the region. To date, we have brought 364 new housing units online through new construction and completed over 1,300 significant rehabilitation projects, while also developing commercial and retail spaces that strengthen our communities.

Today, CMHA is re‑imagining what affordable housing can and should be. We are $250 million into a projected $1 billion investment to modernize and elevate our housing portfolio. Through this work, we are ensuring that residents benefit from high‑quality finishes and thoughtfully renovated homes that promote dignity, stability, and pride of place.

By leveraging the Rental Assistance Demonstration platform, we are preserving the long‑term affordability of our public housing assets while undertaking extensive rehabilitation across our communities. We are also self‑developing new affordable housing tailored to populations with demonstrated needs, including seniors, veterans, and low‑income workers.

In addition, CMHA is partnering with national development leaders to transform several public housing sites while ensuring current residents remain securely housed during redevelopment. These efforts will maintain affordability, expand opportunity, and position CMHA housing as a lasting asset to the greater Hamilton County community.
